Optimising Landing Pages with MarketingSherpa

May 42008

published by Hannah in Online Marketing | SEO with No comments

Early last month Gary gave a review on MarketingSherpa’s Landing Page Handbook. For those that didn’t go ahead and buy a copy since you weren’t convinced of the usefulness I would suggest that you visit their website because you’ll find it to be a very good resource. The MarketingSherpa website allows even non-members access to great articles that are viewable for seven (7) days.

Last May 1 the article “How to Optimize Landing Pages to Maximize Holiday Traffic Conversions” was opened to the public. I wouldn’t be delving much into the article but will simply give the five steps that were outlined that should help you optimise your holiday landing page.

The five steps are:

Step 1: Study past traffic
Step 2: Start with a strong landing page
Step 3: Select the elements to test - includes main image, colour of call-to-action button, footer text, other text on the toolbar, title text at the top of the page
Step 4: Run the test and pick a winner
Step 5: Save everything for next year

To learn more just click on the image below. And don’t forget to join their weekly free book giveaway contests. One of the few online contests open to everybody. In fact they pick winners from everywhere all over the world from Philippines to Ghana. So if you like freebies just as much as I do you’d better head over there now. ^_^

Nov 82007

published by Gary in Online Marketing with 2 comments

The original 80/20 rule concept is that 80% wealth of the world is in the hands of 20% of its population. Since this ratio has been applied on many concepts, it eventually had to fall upon search engine marketing too. At the height of the Internet bubble the popular misconception was that everything could be […]

published by Gary in Online Marketing | Organic SEO with 7 comments

No, I’m not against paid online marketing and sometimes it is necessary to indulge in it to get quick, timely exposure to your online business. Paid online marketing means running Pay-Per-Click campaigns and paying other webmasters (sometimes directly, sometimes through ad-brokers) to display your links and banners. Unlike natural search engine optimisation paid online marketing […]
