Double take With DoubleClick SEM
If you are one of those who got excited about Google’s acquisition of DoubleClick Performics because you want to take advantage of the search marketing services then you know by now that your hopes are dashed. Google has made it very clear that they do not want their objectivity both in search and in advertising to be clouded due to the special interests of their Performics clients. Because of this they have announced earlier this month that they were selling the Search Marketing component of Performics and just integrate the affiliate marketing component of Performics with existing solutions offered by Google. I’ve been waiting for news on the Performics sale but two weeks later there hasn’t been any word. Anyone hear anything about this?

Last I’ve heard is the same as you — they’re going to sell it, but they just haven’t yet. I still think it’s a good move for Google to get rid of that component. However, their reluctance (or maybe just slowness) to move is slightly confusing. Hopefully they’ll get this taken care of soon.
I haven’t heard anything either. I’m sure when it does happen, the world will know immediately.
I wonder if they’ll sell to the highest bidder of if they’ll be more worried about finding a quality owner. There is a lot of value in saying “We were owned by Google”.
