Practical Web Design

Bad news for all Practical Web Design magazine subscribers. I received a letter this morning from the publishers of PWD stating that they have produced their last issue. In January I will receive a free copy of the .NET magazine instead. I then have the option of cancelling my subscription for a refund, or my subscription will be transferred to the .NET mag.

I have been a reader of Practical Web Design since the early days and will certainly miss the informative and entertaining read.

I have no experience of the .NET mag, from the title it sounds like a Microsoft (hiss) orientated magazine, so cancelling my subscription will be the route I take. That said I will review the free copy and give it a chance first.

I’m a subscriber to .NET, it has nothing to do with MS though ;) It’s mainly standards orientated now, Molly is even the editor and they have several other well known people in the blogosphere writing for it.

I’d definitely recommend taking the transfer.

Chris, thank you for your feedback. I will take a look at the free copy and very likely accept the transfer, and see how I get on with the .NET mag. Thank you for your advice, I will let you know my thoughts as soon as the postman arrives.

Hi Neale, thank you for comments I have used the Anaconda theme, with just a few tweaks to the CSS to suit my sensibilities. It was a quick and easy way to get myself some extra functionality. Will keep tweaking as the weeks an months go by. Kind regards.

.NET is actually one of the better magazines at the moment. You surely should give it a change. ;-)

Thanks for your comments Franky. From what people are saying about it - it may prove better than some of my Xmas pressies ;-)
