SEO Over Coffee

What I have noticed about SEO bloggers and speakers (which are usually the same bunch of people, although only the best of the SEO bloggers are invited as speakers) is that while their posts and talks are really informative and useful you are bound to find out even more in depth information if you actually interact with them in a more social setting. Whether it’s just chatting with some friends who are also into SEO through instant messenger or over coffee sometimes you are bound to glean more info this way.

One of the reasons for this is that you can ask more specific questions and the person can give more details. After all with most blogs people avoid writing posts that are too lengthy and filled with figures. Of course, you will find posts like that but in general, generalizations are simply made without figures given.

Another possible reason for this is that people usually do not include stuff on their posts or on their talks that they are not yet sure of. If a person has a theory or has a particular problem with their blog/site they are bound to talk about it with peers they trust rather than inform the general public about it. This means that insight on certain SEO problems/issues are not shared with or without really meaning to keep the information secret.

The truth is that I don’t know if I really did more get more info or it is just the more relaxed atmosphere that makes me listen and thus retain more, but it’s the same way (even in things other than SEO!). Whatever the reason is I find that it is a good idea to expand you social network among colleagues and to once in a while get together to relax while talking about things of common interest (read: SEO).

Nice article you’ve got here…
Its really much better if you could talk to someone with regards to SEO in a casual way. Through this you can get direct answers to questions that you wanna ask. Ideas are clearly explained and well understood…
