Are you looking for some cool WordPress plugins? Then you would like to keep abreast with the developments at This blog is published by Joost de Valk, an SEO consultant from The Netherlands. Joost is also an active DMOZ editor.

Joost de Valk primarily publishes WordPress tips and tricks and some useful SEO information on a regular basis. At the outset it doesn’t look like a blog having lots of content but as you scroll down you’ll notice the post categories cover a vast area of web designing, the Internet, browsers, search engine optimisation and internet marketing. For instance, if you click the SEO category you’ll notice the Joost not only publishes tips and tricks on how to search engine optimise your blogs and websites, he also keeps a finger on the pulse the SEO markets and related technologies.

Another interesting thing is that when you visit for the first time at appears a low-profile blog with no advertising banners and no jazzy look. But as you unfurl the layers, you’ll notice the blog has great content, some awesome plugins, lots of information on search engines and online directories, and above all, a very active community of readers. I just noticed a recent post of his on some DMOZ issue currently has more than 230 comments!

It’s a good resource to actively participate in SEO discussions.

I’ll see if this works, i posted on the dashed & underscores yesterday and it wouldn’t work.

Yep is in my favourites as well, very good content. I don’t read alot of SEO sites, i could count them on one hand but PhoenixRealm and Joost are two of them. 🙂

It consists of just pure SEO content without he “fluff” like alot of other sites.

Keep up the good work Joost, and of course Gary. 😉

Thanks for the tip… just bookmarked his site, looks like an excellent read. Your site still looks like it will be more fun to write on as you have less contributors – I like that! Some of his posts have over 200 comments! It’ll be hard to find enough time in the day for that!

Ehh my comment worked. Have you been having problems with the site Gary?

I made the comments on this post, and on the Hyphen Vs Underscores on different days and they didn’t show up.. but now they have a few days later.

I was just about to send you an email and thought, i’d give it one more shot… and there they are. 🙂

Hi Carly, yep something strange. A couple of your last posts were treated as first time posts, and were in the que for me to approve. Unsure why, but it seems to have cured itself. Hope you are well. Cheers.

Yeah odd, but it seems fixed now whatever happened.. I just posted to the Wolf-Howl entry and it came up instantly.

All well here, i’ve been flat out. A funny thing happened, i decided to “tweak” my index page Title half asleep and instead of it containing “SEO Company” it said “SEO Compnay”

Ehh your Blog is acting wierd with me, it just chopped half the comment. :-/

As i was saying, i didn’t realise what i had done until it was cached and i saw it in the index. My page dropped from around #3 down to #9 when i corrected it.

The next day i was sitting at #1 for the term “SEO Company” on most datacenters before dropping back to #6 while Google tried to decypher what shenannigans i was up to with 3 Index page Title changes in as many days.

Funny stuff, if i was Google i would of booted me off page 1 for being so stupid 🙂

Ahh well, i guess now i can say i was the Number One “Seo Company” on the net… Even if it was for a day!

Sorry for going off on a tangent, but i thought you would get a laugh out of that one.

Carly, 😀

Hehe, glad to hear you did not suffer too badly. Probably best not to work on your index page half asleep. Would be interesting to look up the stats, I wouldn’t mind betting “SEO Compnay” is a popular mis-spelling with a bit of traffic. May be worth targetting as a long tail.
